Eftersom pärlor är organiska och naturliga ädelstenar bör de behandlas varsamt. Ytan kan repas av vassa föremål och pärlan kan förlora sin lyster vid kontakt med alkohol, lotions, smink eller parfym. Helst bör pärlor förvaras i en tygpåse när de inte används.

Ideally, they should be kept in a fabric jewellery pouch rather than a plastic bag as they like it best where they are exposed to oxygen.
